Meet Alyssa Miller, APN, PMHNP-BC

Hi! I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in the care of children, adolescents, and young adults throughout New Jersey. I began my nursing career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where I developed a passion for supporting children and families through complex emotional, behavioral, and medical challenges. Through my experience working closely with patients and families, I recognized the significant need for accessible mental health support outside of the hospital setting, which ultimately led me to the University of Pennsylvania to complete my graduate training as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I have outpatient experience working with children, teens, and young adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, emotional regulation challenges, behavioral concerns, PTSD, and school-related difficulties. I understand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel when emotional, behavioral, academic, or attention-related challenges go unrecognized or unsupported. My goal is to help patients and families feel understood, validated, and empowered throughout their care.

As a veteran, I also value supporting military families, college students, and young adults through periods of transition, growth, and change. I believe mental health care should be individualized and centered around each person’s unique needs, experiences, and strengths. Every person has their own story, and I consider it a privilege to be trusted as part of that journey.
